Gravity Causes Back Pain - ZS Means Zero Gravity

Eighty percent of the world’s population suffers back pain at some time in their lives. Sitting with bad posture is the main cause. The spine was not designed for sitting and in the seated position collapses from an elongated “S” shape into a forward “C.” This slumping is brought about by the body’s weight pulling the spine forward out of position. It is therefore logical to assume that most people would not suffer back pain if they lived in gravity free conditions, as in space.

The proof of the effect weight has on the spine is that astronauts who have lived in space for several weeks return to earth up to two inches taller. This is due to the fact that their spines have expanded due to zero gravity. When they return the earth’s gravity causes them to shrink and in a matter of days their spines return to normal length.
